Forty-five very distinguished Bay Area students each received $1000 college scholarships at an outdoor ceremony in San Jose on August 13, 2020 sponsored by the San Jose Pioneer Lions Club. Criteria for scholarship selection included academic excellence, community service, and financial need. This is the fifteenth consecutive year that the Pioneer Lions Club has held the prestigious event, which this year was carefully held out doors with limited in-person attendance in compliance with local Covid-19 health requirements.
